Please click on the images to see a larger size. All images were made at The Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey, USA.

The Grounds for Sculpture is also a botanical garden, having many unusual trees, shrubs, bushes and flowers from around the world. The first image shows a yellow-flowered sedum ground cover. The castor aralia is a tree with aralia thorns, leaves like a cross between maples and castor beans, and these interesting black seeds. A weeping Atlas cedar branch drapes over a stone wall. The last image is of dead leaves on a sidewalk.

Along the edges of the small lotus pond by the Gazebo are two large corkscrew willow trees. These have interesting twisted leaves and branches. Waterlilies bloom in several areas. This flower was half open. I decided to leave the image in IR color. The last two are converted to B&W.

The first image below, the very pinky-magenta one, is the original straight out of the camera. I used a #92 filter, so this puts the IR wavelengths even further away from the visible wavelengths. The result is less sharp focus, as you can see by clicking on the image for a larger size. The next image is of this original converted to B&W. This scene was shot in the early spring when the magnolias were blooming.

Third image is a color IR of Rat's Restaurant seen from the bridge between the ponds. The last image is a cropped view. The people dining on the patio are much more evident. To create the colors other than magenta in these two images, I post processed using Apple's iPhoto 08.
